We are pleased to share that we decided to support aiXplosion, a STEM Racing team from the Einhard- Gymnasium Aachen in Germany that has qualified for the STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore.

 

STEM Racing (formerly known as F1 in Schools) is a global educational, multidisciplinary technology competition. Students aged 9 to 19 work in teams to design, manufacture, and race miniature Formula 1-style cars powered by CO2 cartridges. It combines science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with business, branding, and project management skills. Students form teams of 3 to 6 members and take on different roles, such as Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Project Manager Marketing/Sponsorship Lead, Team Manager. STEM Racing is active in more than 60 countries and culminates in international World Finals, often held alongside a Formula 1 Grand Prix. The program has been running for over 25 years and is endorsed by Formula 1, which shows the international relevance and reach.

 

AiXplosion is a student STEM Racing team from the Einhard-Gymnasium in Aachen. The team consists of six students competing in the international STEM Racing competition, where teams design, manufacture, market, and race miniature Formula 1 cars. In 2026 the team became:

Their biggest success is truly their current qualification for participating in the STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore. They earned one of Germany's three spots by becoming German Vice Champion. Starting on October 3, the team will represent Germany on the global stage and compete against top teams from around the world that include most talented young engineers to race Formula 1-inspired miniature cars and showcase their innovation, technical expertise and business skills on an international level.

The project has become part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, because it allows us to contribute to a meaningful regional initiative with a broader societal impact.  STEM Racing is one of the world's largest technology and engineering competitions for school students (German: MINT sector). Supporting this initiative demonstrates Northwave's commitment to encouraging young talents in technology, engineering, innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurship, all areas that are closely aligned with our position as a cybersecurity company. Beyond the technical skills, STEM Racing fosters values that strongly resonate with Northwave's culture: confidence, perseverance, determination, teamwork, and willpower. Success in both Formula 1 and cybersecurity is never achieved individually. It requires people to work together under pressure, learn from setbacks, continuously improve, and stay focused on a shared goal.
