Northwave Cyber Security has been selected as a member of Europol's Advisory Group on Internet Security. Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead Michel Mollema will represent Northwave in the group, contributing expert insights to Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) that can be used protect people, organisations and governments from cybercriminals.

Northwave has a long-standing track record in cyber intelligence and crime prevention. As part of this ongoing collaboration, Europol representatives visited Northwave’s headquarters in Utrecht on 28 March 2025, to learn more about their incident response, security operations, and cyber threat intelligence efforts. The company has previously partnered with Europol on cyber security initiatives, including Operation Endgame, Europol conferences, and other security projects. Not only did these initiatives successfully disrupt cybercriminal networks, they also set new standards for collaboration between cyber security companies and law enforcement agencies. 

Advisory Group’s Mission

Europol’s Advisory Group on Internet Security plays a crucial role in shaping cyber security strategies across Europe. Its key objectives include:

• Identifying and addressing emerging cyber threats through knowledge-sharing.
• Advising EC3 on collaboration with CERTs and cyber security partners.
• Developing strategies to enhance cybercrime prevention and response.
• Balancing disruption, prevention, investigation, and prosecution in cybercrime cases.
