Working At Northwave
Intelligent Security Operations
Do you have what it takes to join our journey?
We’re proud to be part of a diverse team of security specialists with different backgrounds and unique specialisations, representing more than 33 nationalities. Despite these differences, we all work towards a common goal: Contributing to the safe digital journey of our clients to mitigate the chances of a cyber-attack. We’re able to reach the best results because we integrate our areas of expertise and work together as a team.
Curious what kind of activities we enjoy doing together? Check out the rest of the page!
-
General Meetings
Our quarterly meetings help us keep the bigger picture in mind! There are recap and strategy talks by the management team and always plenty of time for dinner and drinks or some moves on the dance floor!
-
Marathon
Did you know Team Northwave already ran 3 of the big 6 Marathons? - New York, Berlin, London. Next on the list is Chicago in October 2023. We even have our own Northwave Half Marathon.
-
And If You Are Not Tired Yet..
What else? Well, bouldering, volleyball, cycling, mud runs and a trip to a trampoline park. We can’t wait to hear what new things you can introduce us to!
-
Cake
There is always a reason for cake. With so many colleagues there is always someones birthday or graduation, the completion of a successful project or just the try out of a new recipe.
-
Northwave Sprintweek
Challenging each other in a table tennis match while discussing future projects is a fun and productive way to improve our work and team spirit. That is why we go on team outings once in a while and combine work and pleasure. Will you be there next time?
-
Christmas Party
Matching sweaters? Check! Christmas spirit? Check! While having dinner and drinks we like to celebrate the end of the year together.
-
Northwave get togethers
You can expect LAN parties at the office, CTFs, trips to security events, Friday drinks (vrijmibo’s in Dutch) with the best bitterballen (Dutch snack) in town and fun events that may include bingo and DJ sets.
-
Family Day in The Theme Park Efteling
Once upon a time... there was a big group of Northwave families in a theme park. You’d expect the kids to be most excited, but secretly the adult Northwavers like it too (or maybe even more..).

Behind the scenes
Pictures for our new website needed? Of course we are there. But just don't expect us to be dead serious all the time.
Do you recognize these faces?
The passion we share
We all share the same passion for security, even if each of us looks at it from a different angle. The cool thing about working together with this crazy bunch of security enthusiasts is learning from each other.
Knowledge Sharing
We contribute to a safe digital world. Maybe you have seen one of our colleagues participating in a webinar or speaking at an event? Or maybe you’ve read one of the informative blogs and Threat responses that we regularly send out. If not, check them out on our news page and LinkedIn!
Education
We’ve set up partnerships that we’re proud of. We visit universities to provide guest lectures or join thesis defences to share our expertise. We also supervise graduation projects, helping those students grow into true security experts!
PPP Sessions
Are you ready to join our monthly PPP (Pizza, Phun & Pwnage) sessions? We start off with having pizza, beers, and/or Fritz sodas at the office. After that, a few Northwavers share what they’ve been up to, the cool stuff they’ve learned, or maybe a fun side project they’ve been working on.
Social Responsibility
We think it’s important to give back to society. We do this in a variety of ways.
Hack Shield
HackShield turns kids into future cyber heroes. They get to work as cyber agents and have to protect themselves and others against cyber criminals. With this partnership, we are proud to play a part in making our youngest fit in cyber security
Mine Mark Foundation
We partner with Mine Mark Foundation, a Dutch non-profit organisation that aims to promote awareness, prevention, and safe behaviour to reduce the risks and impact of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO). Many thanks to our colleague Lala, who advocated for this initiative.
Reservists
We believe it’s important to support our colleagues in doing what they enjoy. And we value that when we do that, we also contribute to the safety of our society. We’re honoured that we were nominated Reservists’ Employer of 2020.
Sport (Row, Row, Row Your Boat)
Sport requires talent, discipline, passion, and teamwork, especially rowing. Just like fighting cyber criminals does. Therefore, we are the very proud sponsors of several student rowing associations in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Empowering People
An interdisciplinary organisation requires diverse teams. The different perspectives with which we look at security are also reflected in the diversity of our colleagues. We strongly believe that we thrive and become better in adequately protecting business from cyber incidents by combining as many different perspectives and experiences as possible. And besides that, it’s a lot of fun.
Women in Cyber
Some of our female colleagues shared their expertise during the WICCA (Women In Cybersecurity Community Association) event which we hosted in our office. In Germany, we hosted the DiversIT event, an inspiring and refreshing event specifically for women in IT.
ITvitae
We work together with ITvitae by providing the security module in their training programme and are happy that some of our interns turn into highly appreciated colleagues, such as Thomas. Read his inspiring story.
33+ Nationalities
Have you ever tried Mujaddara? Do you know the difference between Pfannkuchen, Krapfen, and Berliners? And what is the secret of a good curry? The best way to celebrate our international team is, of course, through food. That’s why we have regular international evenings.
Intelligent family Operations
We offer excellent managed services to adequately protect businesses from cyberattacks. Whether full-time or part-time, we contribute our efforts towards a safe digital journey for our clients. Yet as much as we love our jobs, we make sure our families and friends come first. Whatever our families look like, we can be sure there is a supportive chat group (#catlovers, #youngparents) that is happy to help with minor incidents. And if there is a major incident, we can count on our colleagues and managers.
A special experience, not only for the kids, is our annual family day at a theme park. To meet your colleagues’ children and partners who occasionally peek into online calls helps in understanding each other even better.
