Northwave Cyber Security appoints Country Manager for Belgium

Brussels, 21st of February 2024

Northwave Cyber Security, a leading provider of managed cyber security solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Smeulders as Country Manager Belgium for Northwave. Since 1 January 2024, Smeulders has been the driving force of the strategic initiatives for the Belgian region, bringing her valued insights and expertise to the organisation.

In her new position, Smeulders will further expand Northwave´s business in Belgium. With 25 years of experience in the sector, she will be the face of Northwave for all Belgian business activities. Cindy is passionate about protecting the valued data of organisations against cyber threats. In a statement, she said: “Northwave’s holistic approach to cybersecurity will help drive the success of protecting the Belgian digital landscape and, in doing so, promote a secure digital presence for the rest of Europe.”

CEO Steven Dondorp emphasises: “We are happy to welcome Cindy to our team. Northwave has been active in the Belgian market for over a decade. By adding a Belgian management and stronger presence, we continue to strengthen our position and strategy in the area. With Cindy’s experience in the field, I am confident that she will be great at expanding the activities we are planning.

Cindy Smeulders expressed her eagerness about joining Northwave, she mentions: “I am looking forward to participating in the Northwave culture where business is very much client-, society-, and people oriented. Northwave Belgium will carry on that culture in which we think along with the client about how we can help them protect their business. I aspire to be accepted as an enthusiastic Northwaver.”

Appointing a Country Manager in Belgium is a strategic decision aimed to strengthen the company’s regional presence in the Belgian market. CEO Dondorp mentions: “Though Belgium, in a lot of ways, can be compared to the Netherlands, it is an entirely different market. To ensure we handle the market’s specifities,  languages and challenges, it is beneficial to appoint someone that truly understands the market from the inside out. Cindy is a perfect fit to present Northwave in Belgium. I am certain that Cindy has all the assets needed to navigate this region.”
