Strengthening European Cyber Resilience through Connection and Collaboration
Northwave perspectives from it-sa 2025

Northwave perspectives from it-sa 2025
What does it take to capture the vastness of the cyber security world? For the 2025 it-sa Expo and Congress in Nuremberg, Germany, it was five capacious halls filled with nearly 1,000 exhibitors.
This was a record-setting year for it-sa in the number of participants as well as the increased level of international interest. More countries were represented in the exhibition halls than ever before. The knowledge programme reflected a growing awareness of the need to strengthen cross-border collaboration for a more resilient Europe.
At the Northwave booth, our own expansion was also proudly on display. Thirteen Northwavers were on site over the three-day event, a multidisciplinary crew representing our DACH, Benelux, and Nordic teams. The number of Northwave DACH team members who participated in this year’s it-sa, and the diversity of their disciplines in cyber security, highlights our growth in the region. This year we’ve even had to find a new office location to accommodate all of our new team members. We are all excited to see what this team can accomplish as we continue to strengthen our footprint and partnerships in the DACH region.

From our Hall 7 booth, Northwavers delivered a series of presentations covering our latest insights on the Global Threat Landscape, supply chain security, cyber threat intelligence, and data security in the age of AI. Additionally, one of our newer business partners, OneMore Secure, was on hand to explain how organisations can improve supply chain resilience with streamlined supplier monitoring.
On the Forum D stage, Eileen Walther, DACH General Manager, and Luis Wiltzsch, Cyber Security Specialist, explored this pivotal time for Blue Teams. As AI rewrites the playbook for cyber defence, some say that blue teaming is quickly becoming obsolete. At Northwave, we see this moment as an opportunity to sharpen blue team strategies with real-world intelligence and automation.
Knowledge sharing is how we turn individual security expertise into collective cyber resilience. Key to that is making connections, which is perhaps the greatest benefit of it-sa attendance. We appreciate everyone who stopped by our booth–both familiar faces and new connections–to chat with us. It was a pleasure to host the Security Meetup gathering. This organisation brings together cyber security professionals from all around Germany to build community and share knowledge. It’s informal settings like these that lay the foundation for strategic collaboration.
After three days and more than 120 cups of coffee served from the Northwave booth, one thing is clear: the future of cyber security depends on the connections we build today. Our world is changing fast and it’s difficult to predict all that the next year will bring. But what is certain is that it will bring us back to it-sa.
We’ll see you again on 27 to 29 October 2026, in Hall 7 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. In the meantime, do not hesitate to reach out to the Northwave teams in the DACH, Nordics and Benelux regions with your cyber security questions or concerns. We are here for you–as your confident cyber security crew.
